Early Childhood Education

Early Childhood Education is the pillar of the education. Research shows that of all period of a child’s life, the year between 3 and 6 is the most important in a child’s growth and development. That’s why early childhood education is crucial for the journey to life-long learning.

Early childhood educators therefore play a critical role as architects of each child’s future. Thus, it is vital to learn constantly, upgrading and sharing knowledge, attending workshops and seminars to develop professionally.

Paradise High School (PHS) has organized a series of workshops for ten Early Childhood Educators from Waigani Christian High School on June 22nd and 23rd, 2014 on its own venue at PHS. The workshop ran from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm with various topics to help teaching to young learners. Topics covered are: Drawing lesson plans, Presenting a lesson, Key points on teaching young learners, Teaching letters and sounds, Teaching numbers, Teaching songs, Teaching science and Guidelines on classroom management. The overall objective of the program is to provide quality education to young learners in fun and interesting way.  The workshops went exciting, enriching and very productive. All the participants have a very great learning experience with broader vision, different perspective, and variety of activities about teaching young learners.

Paradise High School has organized two workshops on “Music and movement for young learners” in the year 2013 with teachers from eleven preschools and kindergartens. Some more workshops on different topics with other preschools in bigger version is being planned for the near future.
