A HELPING HAND ACROSS THE SEA

On the 30th of April 2016, a 40-feet container full of donations had arrived on PNG Paradise High School grounds.  This container containing items such as clothes, toys, books, shoes, houseware, etc. were donated by the Australian Relief Organization (ARO), a charity organization based in Sydney and Melbourne. The purpose of the donation is to help the under privileged people in the settlement areas of POM in coordination with Paradise High School.

With the help of the Department of Justice and Attorney’s office, a number of deserving areas were selected for the distribution of the packed donations.  The areas includes, Gerehu, Morata, Baruni, Sabama, the 6 mile establishments, school for Orphans and many other nearby communities.     Human aid materials were also distributed through the security provided by the PNG Police Force Crime Prevention Unit.

Through the active leadership of our principal, Mr. Abdurrahman Aydin and with the untiring help of teachers and students, the preparation of human aids pack was made possible in a short time. It was a time of great involvement and excitement knowing that our efforts did not go wasted. Everyone who helped must have gotten exhausted but were happy knowing what great happiness it will bring to the recipients. 2100 bags were distributed to the people in the settlements.
